I recently spent the day with clients completing the Yorshire three peaks in aid of charity. The weather was glorious to say the least and an early start at 7.15am was rewarded by clear skies and no wind walking to the summit of Pen-Y-Gent via the little scramble just prior to the summit. Excellent views rewarded those who got up early and the entire vista of the three peaks was for the taking.
Onward without incident to Ribblehead where support crew and refreshements were gladly recieved by those trekkers taking part.
The intrepid explorers soldiered on to their second peak of the day, Whernside. Fortunatley the weather during the preceeding week had been relatively dry and so the going underfoot was good. Although I did see one individual who's footwear had completely disintergrated during the day. No chance of wet feet today though!!
The pace slowed down as Ingleborough beckoned and I spent some time on the top meeting and greeting challengees. All glad to be tapping the summit cairn before the long 7k decent to beers and applause by friends and family. The glorious Yorkshire Dales in all their splendour under blue skies and light winds......perfect.
